Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Al Hoffa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rackham!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffa ducks under a wild hook from Rackham.

Hoffa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rackham to the mat! Rackham manages to get full guard.
Hoffa is stalling in the full guard.
Hoffa wants to control from the top but Rackham keeps moving.
Hoffa looking to pass the guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rackham can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rackham wants to hit a sweep here but Hoffa passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rackham there!
Rackham has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Hoffa content just to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rackham is working to get back to half guard.
Hoffa trying to control but Rackham is having none of it.

Hoffa controlling the position easily from mount.
Hoffa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rackham for as long as he can get away with.

Hoffa has hold of Rackham's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Rackham manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rackham can't escape the position.
Rackham is trying to escape the mount but Hoffa keeps good control and instead manages to take Rackham's back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rackham is in bad spot here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hoffa looking for the RNC.

Hoffa is looking for the choke from the back position but Rackham is controlling his hands well.
Hoffa has the hooks in. Rackham is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Hoffa has the hooks in. Rackham is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Hoffa passes his arm under Rackham's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Rackham taps!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Al Hoffa!
After winning the bout, Al Hoffa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
