Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between DJ Shaw (ranked 5973 p4p, 4132 weight class) and Abhidi Sharma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, DJ Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Abhidi Sharma! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw misses with a two punch combination.
Shaw throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Sharma steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Shaw. Shaw looks for a takedown but Sharma sprawls well. Shaw lands a head kick. Sharma smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Sharma looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Shaw misses with a takedown attempt and Sharma counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sharma. Sharma will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Shaw up against the cage. Sharma pressing his opponent against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Come on Sharma - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sharma seems keen to control Shaw's posture. Shaw wants to stand but Sharma has a closed guard, so he can't escape. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sharma can do anything to dispel that myth.

Come on Sharma - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
