Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Rection (ranked 2043 p4p, 2850 weight class) and Santiago Ponziabo (ranked 252 p4p, 352 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hugh Rection! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Santiago Ponziabo! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rection motions for Ponziabo to come forward. Rection throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rection moves away from the strike by Ponziabo. A momentary lapse in concentration from Rection enables Ponziabo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rection manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rection looking for a sweep. Not yet Rection, not yet. Rection has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ponziabo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ponziabo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ponziabo wants to control from the top but Rection keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ponziabo passes Rection's left leg - he's now in half guard. Rection actively working from the bottom here.

Rection looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Ponziabo pushes past his half guard into mount! Rection tries to lock up and control but Ponziabo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Rection is trying to escape the mount.

Rection sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Ponziabo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rection is just riding it out for now. Ponziabo eventually gives up the hold. Rection keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ponziabo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rection sees it coming and defends easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Santiago Ponziabo dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. A telegraphed right hand from Rection misses the target. Ponziabo moves out of range of the leg kick from Rection. Hugh Rection seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ponziabo checks the leg kick. Ponziabo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rection's guard. Rection is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ponziabo defends well. Ponziabo stopping the sweep attempt from Rection. Ponziabo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ponziabo working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ponziabo working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ponziabo is trying to get an arm triangle but Rection is defending well.

Ponziabo is in trouble now - Rection has advanced to mount! Rection is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ponziabo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ponziabo is squirming around, avoiding Rection's attempts to control the action. Rection definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rection is really struggling to control Ponziabo but he's trying to hold on to the position. Ponziabo tries to reverse the position but Rection maintains control. Ponziabo is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Rection locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Ponziabo is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Hugh Rection! The defeated Santiago Ponziabo had this to say: 'Fuck off, I got work to do.'.
