The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vlad lands with a kick to the temple. Carter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Miles Carter has been cut.
Carter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Vlad clinches.
Carter wants to break the clinch but can't.
Vlad controlling the action here for a moment.
Knees in the clinch landing for Vlad.
Carter tries to break the clinch but Vlad is controlling the position.
Vlad has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Vlad manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Vlad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vlad is nestled in close to Carter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vlad takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Vlad drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Vlad thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vlad decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carter, up you get!

Carter stuffs the takedown attempt from Vlad. Vlad gets slowly back to his feet.
Vlad rushes Carter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vlad goes for a takedown attempt but Carter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Vlad creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Carter should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Vlad shoots in and bounces Carter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Vlad seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Carter for as long as he can get away with.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carter is desperately trying to improve his position but Vlad has a good base and remains in mount.
