Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tate Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akihiko Takahashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takahashi has chosen Pure White Lace as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with the takedown.
Johnson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Takahashi to score with a decent uppercut.
Johnson shoots in but no luck this time.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tate Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson looks to land a combination but Takahashi avoids it well.

Johnson tries to keep at a distance but Takahashi has taken the fight into the clinch.

Takahashi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Takahashi tries to advance to mount but Johnson denies him.
Takahashi works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Takahashi has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Takahashi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Johnson?
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Takahashi on the ground.
Takahashi breaks from Johnson's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Takahashi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Takahashi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Takahashi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Takahashi tries to control but Johnson wriggling away.
Takahashi lands a heavy elbow.
Takahashi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Takahashi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Takahashi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Johnson is looking to escape.

Takahashi drops a big elbow. That's hurt Johnson! More shots from Takahashi and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
