Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bobby george (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rooftops- Lost Prophets . Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, bobby george! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Johnson. george shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Johnson tries to clinch up. Johnson swinging wilding here.

george jabs Johnson right on the nose. Johnson blinks but takes it well. george thows a body shot but no joy. Johnson fails with the takedown and george counters with a straight right hand. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson blocks a head kick by george.
Johnson throws a lazy right hand but george sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. george with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnson to score with a decent uppercut. Johnson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. george tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Johnson lands with a shot to the body. george looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from george misses. Johnson shoots and misses and george cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. george pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Johnson scores with a head kick.
Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. george tries to keep at a distance but Johnson has taken the fight into the clinch. Johnson has hold of one of george's legs. george is fighting the takedown attempt but Johnson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Johnson wants to pass the guard but george is keeping the position. Johnson tries to stand but george is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but george is retaining full guard. george keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Johnson is really struggling to control george but he's trying to hold on to the position. Johnson stands up from george's guard - Johnson perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson trying to control but george is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if george can do anything to dispel that myth. george is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. george keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson throwing strikes from guard but george blocks nicely. george is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Johnson is controlling him. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. george working a defensive guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says george as he avoids it easily. george shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but george keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. george drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Johnson is trying to improve his position. george working away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. george working the ground and pound but Johnson is defending the strikes. george cracks Johnson with a big right hand but Johnson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to buck george off but george is having none of it. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on george's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. george is working away from the top position though. george trying to control the pace. Johnson trying to hold on to george's head to control him but george postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in george's guard. Johnson is in close to george's body, working some short punches and elbows. Johnson won't allow george to get back to his feet. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but george has wrist control. george keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. george pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. george swivels though and keeps the full guard. Johnson pushes down on george's leg and manages to get into half guard. george blocking the ground and pound attempt from Johnson. Well, if Johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Ken Johnson dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Johnson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and george counters with a right hand to the body. Johnson shoots and misses and george counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnson thinking. george throws a combination. Johnson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. george misses with a body shot
and Johnson moves into the clinch. george breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's one minute gone in the round. george digs a good body shot into Johnson's ribs. Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and george counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Johnson's guard now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. george showing good wrestling skills to control the position. george trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom. Johnson wants to sweep but no luck. Johnson trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. george stops Johnson from standing up. Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Johnson controls george momentarily but george frees himself. george wanted to stand there but Johnson had control of the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Johnson tries to clinch up and george holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Johnson wants a takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. george gets control of Johnson's arms and successfully pulls guard. george will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but george is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. george is controlling Johnson's posture. Johnson is in close to george's body, working some short punches and elbows. george throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much. george seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. bobby george has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. george keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. george with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Johnson can't handle though.
Johnson is pushing down on george's leg trying to pass to half guard. george is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through. Ken Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. george tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson wants to advance to full mount but george doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
And that's the end of the fight! bobby george comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Johnson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
