Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones Jr (ranked 84 p4p, 116 weight class) and Long Hung Dong (ranked 15 p4p, 23 weight class). Jones Jr comes to the cage accompanied by The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Ballad of Jim Jones. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jones Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Long Hung Dong!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dong takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jones Jr lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones Jr on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dong. Dong obviously looking to wear him down.
Dong throws a front kick aimed at Jones Jr's knee but Jones Jr avoids it well.
Jones Jr half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Dong takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jim Jones Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dong's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jones Jr under the eye.
Dong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dong drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dong now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Dong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Jones Jr's sensitive parts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dong closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Despite the aggression on Dong's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Jones Jr dives in and grabs Dong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dong pushes down on Jones Jr's head and hops out.

Jones Jr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dong's head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jones Jr throws a strike but Dong avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones Jr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dong's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jones Jr wants to control from the top but Dong keeps moving.

Jones Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dong manages to avoid it.
Dong flicks out a counter leg kick but Jones Jr steps away.

and Dong makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Dong is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Jones Jr with a body shot.

A little jabbing left from Dong on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Jones Jr throws a body shot but no joy.

enabling Dong to counter with a crisp jab.

Dong doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Jones Jr dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It seemed like Dong was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Jones Jr throws out a leg kick but Dong moves out of range and Jones Jr only half commits.
Dong swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Jones Jr fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dong to the ground. Jones Jr is now in Dong's guard.

Dong takes a little break here. Jones Jr wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Dong slows the pace down.
Jones Jr tries to bench press Dong off him but Dong keeps the position.
Jones Jr manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dong's best efforts.
Jones Jr is looking for a sweep. Dong is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dong works his foot free and advances to mount.

Jones Jr tries to improve his position but instead Dong has taken his back!
Jones Jr tries to escape but Dong has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close second round but Long Hung Dong will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Jones Jr throws the left hand but Dong avoids the punch easily.
Dong takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Dong walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Jones Jr is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Dong.

Jones Jr connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Dong momentarily.
Jones Jr throws a body punch but Dong moves out of range.

and Dong finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Jones Jr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dong's waist but Dong gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones Jr off to one side.

Dong goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jones Jr half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Long Hung Dong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dong has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
