PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sao Alela (ranked 377 p4p, 447 weight class) and Peter Zonta (ranked 56 p4p, 65 weight class). Alela comes to the cage accompanied by Ground Zero (MOP). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sao Alela!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Zonta!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zonta shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Zonta was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Zonta is looking to take a break and control but Alela is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zonta creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Alela sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zonta works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Alela on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Zonta tries to score with some ground and pound. Alela controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Zonta postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alela is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Alela is looking to improve his position but Zonta isn't that keen on the idea.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

He's trying desperately to grab hold of Zonta around the waist but Zonta pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Zonta is the winner by TKO! Zonta jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
