Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jaxon Magrath (ranked 1188 p4p, 558 weight class) and Raminus Polus (ranked 182 p4p, 89 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jaxon Magrath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raminus Polus!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magrath lands with a right hand.
Magrath throws a jab when Polus was well out of range.
Polus drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Magrath defends it well.
Magrath swings widly with a right hand
and Polus counters with a three punch combo that has Magrath backing up. Magrath nods at Polus to acknowledge the strikes.
Magrath misses with a body punch

and Polus counters with a single leg into guard. Magrath didn't expect that.
Polus tries to free his leg and advance position but Magrath is retaining full guard.
Magrath has Polus pulled in close to control his posture.

Polus has gone for a leg lock! Magrath slips out almost immediately though and dives into Polus's guard.

Polus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Magrath defends it easily.

Polus is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Magrath is aware though and is defending well.

Polus is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Polus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Magrath gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Polus is looking for a triangle here but Magrath uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Magrath happy to just control the position for now.
Polus tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Magrath sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Polus looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Magrath passes into side control.
Magrath gets to mount! Polus was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

A close round but Raminus Polus will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A looping hook to the body misses from Magrath. Polus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Magrath throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Magrath uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Polus has time to react.

It looks like Raminus Polus has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Magrath has knocked Polus down with a huge combo! Magrath steps away and waves a wobbly Polus back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Polus is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Polus takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Polus is still on wobbly legs! Can Magrath finish him?
Magrath throws a right hand that misses

and Polus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Magrath won't be happy with that.
Polus seems to have recovered his senses.

Polus goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Magrath rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Polus's guard! Nice work there by Magrath!
Jaxon Magrath overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Polus felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Magrath tries to stand and escape but Polus is controlling the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Magrath throws an off balance right hand
and Polus counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The cut man is working on Raminus Polus's cut.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Magrath throws a hook but Polus blocks it.
Polus tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Magrath takes a swing at Polus's ribcage but misses.
Magrath throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Magrath scores with a crisp jab that stopped Polus in his tracks.
Magrath throws a lazy uppercut
and Polus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Magrath is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Polus can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Magrath throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Polus sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Magrath throws a head kick that misses
and Polus counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Magrath misses with an uppercut. Polus saw that one coming.
Magrath with a nice cross.
Magrath stuns Polus with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Polus counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Magrath looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Polus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Polus takes a shot to the head.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Magrath.
Magrath blocks an uppercut.

Polus lands a shoulder strike.
Magrath lands a body shot in the clinch.

Polus drags the fight down to the ground.

Polus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Magrath doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Magrath manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Magrath manages to capitalize on a mistake by Polus to take his back!

Polus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Magrath is riding his opponent, not letting Polus buck him off.
Polus tries to roll but Magrath sticks to his back.
