The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Palmer tries to clinch but Poika moves out of range. Palmer tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Poika manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Palmer has closed the distance and engaged Poika in a clinch.

Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Poika holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Poika makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Poika. We've been informed that Palmer has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Poika has a loose triangle.
