The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lopez pinned against the cage. Lopez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sanderson is trying to ground and pound but Lopez uses the momentary lack of control by Sanderson to regain half guard.
Sanderson seems to be working for a kimura but Lopez defends the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lopez dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanderson. That did some damage!

Sanderson is breathing heavily.
Lopez lands a nice looking body shot.
Sanderson takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lopez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Lopez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanderson can do to turn this around?

and Lopez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Lopez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lopez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sanderson's head.
Lopez is pawing at Sanderson, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Sanderson's nose. Sanderson is badly hurt! Lopez pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Sanderson tries desperately to hold on but Lopez is relentless in his assault! As Sanderson receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Lopez away and this one is in the books!
