Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Bonin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Magomed Mhiaolov!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mhiaolov swings widly with a right hand
and Bonin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A left lands for Bonin.
Bonin clobbers Mhiaolov with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bonin, as that shot connected.
Jab by Bonin.
William Bonin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bonin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mhiaolov throws a hook but Bonin avoids it easily.
The crowd cheers as Bonin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mhiaolov doesn't seem phased though.
Bonin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Mhiaolov takes a swing at Bonin's ribcage but misses.
Mhiaolov misses with a hook
and Bonin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Mhiaolov! Bonin lets Mhiaolov back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Mhiaolov is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bonin closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Mhiaolov out cold! Mhiaolov corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
