The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uvatavich looks to land a combination. Canellakis sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Uvatavich swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Uvatavich misses with a double jab

and Canellakis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Uvatavich won't be happy with that.

Uvatavich bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Uvatavich cracks Canellakis with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Canellakis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Uvatavich is trying to defend but Canellakis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've been told by Uvatavich's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
