Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Van Etten (ranked 4575 p4p, 4693 weight class) and Djanko Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Garrett Van Etten has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Garrett Van Etten seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Garrett Van Etten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Van Etten with that takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It seemed like Jones was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Van Etten looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Van Etten persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing.
Van Etten looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Van Etten is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
