Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Frost (ranked 1382 p4p, 2403 weight class) and Rex Hunt (ranked 179 p4p, 296 weight class). Rex Hunt acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Frost!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rex Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hunt lands in his opponent's guard.

Frost has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hunt off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Hunt closes the distance and pushes Frost back into the cage.
Frost is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Hunt has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Frost after a bit of a struggle.

Hunt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Frost avoids it really well and circles away.
Hunt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Frost gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hunt wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Hunt goes for a takedown attempt but Frost pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Frost shoots in but no luck this time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunt throws a sloppy head kick and Frost moves out of range easily.
Frost feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Frost waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hunt.
No luck for Hunt with that takedown attempt.
Frost fails to land the takedown.
Hunt is looking for the big counter here.
Frost shoots for a double leg takedown but Hunt sprawls well. He's pushed Frost's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Frost avoids the head kick by Hunt.
It looked like Frost was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Hunt.
Frost misses with a takedown attempt - Hunt sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Frost gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunt to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hunt is looking to work some ground and pound but Frost has wrist control.

Hunt wants to pass the guard but Frost is keeping the position.
Frost wants to stand but Hunt is controlling the position.
Hunt wants to pass the guard but Frost is keeping the position.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Frost keeps moving.
Hunt must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Frost is pulling down on Hunt's head. It's preventing any offense from Hunt, at least for the moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hunt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hunt stopping the sweep attempt from Frost.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Frost stuffs the takedown.
Frost looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Hunt wants to clinch.

Frost drives through and clinches with Hunt against the cage.

Frost pulls Hunt into guard.
Hunt won't allow Frost to get back to his feet.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rex Hunt will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hunt wants to get back to his feet but Frost is dominant here and he's now got Hunt's back!
Jack Frost overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Frost keeps control of the position as Hunt tries to break free.

Hunt is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Frost thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Hunt is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Frost trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Hunt doesn't escape.

Frost is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hunt won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Frost off his unconscious opponent!
