PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Brent (ranked 866 p4p, 653 weight class) and Rage Parade (ranked 21 p4p, 100 weight class). Parade has chosen I KILL Cause I'm Hungry as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Brent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Rage Parade!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parade pushes Brent away with a front kick.
Brent looks to land a left hand but Parade moved out of range nicely.
Brent checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Brent misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brent looks to throw the jab but Parade is out of range.
Brent missing with a left hand there. Parade was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Parade is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Brent throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brent scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

It looks like Rage Parade has been cut.
We've been informed that Parade has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Parade throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Brent takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Brent throws a big shot that misses.
Brent walks into a straight right hand from Parade.

It looks like David Brent has been cut.
Parade slips a jab and a cross from Brent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brent throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Brent checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Brent scores with a jab to the head.
Parade displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brent throws out the jab.
Parade lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Brent misses with a looping left.

Parade lands a glancing blow to the side of Brent's head.

Parade scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Parade moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Brent drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Brent ducks right into an uppercut from Parade.
Brent slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Parade uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brent.
Brent avoids a kick to the body.
Brent misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Parade.
Brent is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Brent throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Parade counters with a thumping low kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parade tries to close the distance and clinch but Brent swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Brent ducks right into an uppercut from Parade.
Parade scoring well with a low kick there.
Brent pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Parade defending well as Brent loads up on a big left hand.
Parade throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Brent's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Parade dives in looking to finish as Brent flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Parade's strikes! Parade is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Brent's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Brent was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rage Parade!
A relieved looking Rage Parade thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
