Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matteo Boretti (ranked 42 p4p, 110 weight class) and Patty O Reilly (ranked 8 p4p, 18 weight class). Boretti comes to the cage accompanied by Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patty O Reilly!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Reilly jabs at Boretti's body.
O Reilly works Boretti's body with a nice hook.
O Reilly looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

O Reilly swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Boretti scores with a one two! O Reilly had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

O Reilly shoots for a double leg takedown but Boretti sprawls well. He's pushed O Reilly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

I was talking to Boretti's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Boretti chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before O Reilly can pounce on him.

Crunch! O Reilly slams his shin into Boretti's torso.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Boretti crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from O Reilly - the referee stops the clock and Boretti gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says O Reilly. Boretti manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Patty O Reilly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

O Reilly has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Boretti is trying to keep an underhook but O Reilly manages to get the takedown into half guard.

O Reilly closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Boretti is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, O Reilly asserts his dominance and retains side control.

O Reilly tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no O Reilly has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Boretti parries the strikes from O Reilly easily there. O Reilly is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Boretti to escape.
Boretti is looking to work his way out of this bad position but O Reilly is controlling him well.

O Reilly has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boretti can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

O Reilly is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

O Reilly working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boretti doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boretti manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well O Reilly has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
