Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Carryon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Ricardo Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogueira has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Antonio Ricardo Nogueira is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Carryon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Ricardo Nogueira! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carryon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nogueira swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nogueira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Carryon keeps the fight on the outside. Carryon shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carryon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Carryon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nogueira paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carryon tries to clinch there but Nogueira circles away.
Carryon stalks Nogueira and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nogueira's face. Nogueira staggers backwards, shaken. Horrible takedown by Carryon or perhaps it was just good defense by Nogueira which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Carryon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carryon wants to clinch. Carryon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carryon wants to clinch up but Nogueira keeps it at a distance. Carryon could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Carryon closes the distance but Nogueira moves to the side and Nogueira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nogueira.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carryon tries to pull guard but Nogueira holds him up against the cage and eventually Carryon drops back down to his feet.

Carryon keeps control of Nogueira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Carryon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nogueira walks away with a smile on his face. Carryon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Antonio Ricardo Nogueira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carryon throws a front kick that sends Nogueira stumbling back into the cage. Carryon with a lazy takedown attempt so Nogueira counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Carryon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Carryon working for a triangle but Nogueira defends it easily.
Carryon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nogueira preventing the sweep. Nogueira wants to control from the top but Carryon keeps moving. Nogueira must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Carryon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nogueira is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carryon trying to keep a closed guard but Nogueira is proving a slippery customer.

Carryon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carryon keeping moving, preventing Nogueira from controlling successfully. Carryon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nogueira is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carryon had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nogueira is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carryon Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nogueira's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nogueira swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Carryon counters with a one-two to the body. Carryon lands a jab-cross combination. Carryon misses with a kick to the body.
Carryon lands with a nice combination. Nogueira backs away looking to recover. Carryon tries for a takedown but Nogueira sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nogueira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Carryon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nogueira as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Carryon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carryon with a lazy takedown attempt and Nogueira decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carryon's guard. Carryon throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Nogueira wants to stand but Carryon is controlling his posture from full guard. Nogueira stands and steps away. Carryon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carryon closes the distance and clinches up with Nogueira, looking for a takedown. Carryon pushes Nogueira against the cage but Nogueira circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Carryon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Carryon!
Nice takedown defense from Nogueira. No joy for Carryon on that attempt. Nogueira darts in and clinches Carryon up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nogueira with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Nogueira stalls. Carryon tries to pull guard but Nogueira won't allow it.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Carryon. Nogueira works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Carryon keeping moving, preventing Nogueira from controlling successfully. Nogueira tries to stand but Carryon is controlling from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carryon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nogueira! Carryon prevents Nogueira from getting the reversal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Carryon trying to control but Nogueira is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Ricardo Nogueira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Antonio Ricardo Nogueira's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Nope, Nogueira circles away and we're back to standing. Nogueira has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Nogueira circles away from the clinch attempt and Nogueira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Carryon's guard now. Nogueira gets to his feet - Carryon follows without any prompting. Carryon tries for a takedown but Nogueira sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Carryon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carryon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nogueira circles away.

Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carryon paws at him with a jab and circles away. James Carryon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nogueira shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carryon as he jumps to the side. Carryon tries to clinch there but Nogueira circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Nogueira connects with a nasty looking knee right to Carryon's face.

Nogueira blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nogueira digs a right hand underneath Carryon's ribcage. Carryon let out a lung full of air as it connected. Nogueira escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carryon wants to clinch and Nogueira moves into the clinch. Carryon tries to stall but Nogueira uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Nogueira breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carryon swats away the attempt to clinch by Nogueira. Carryon throws a right hand that Nogueira ducks under and follows up with a left that Nogueira also avoids with ease. Carryon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nogueira is fending him off so far but Carryon persists. Nope, Nogueira circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nogueira avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nogueira has closed the distance and engaged Carryon in a clinch.

Nogueira is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Nogueira tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Carryon looking for a takedown. Carryon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Nogueira is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Carryon to the mat. Carryon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Nogueira throws a strike but Carryon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Nogueira is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Carryon dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nogueira bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Nogueira moves in looking to clinch but Carryon pushes him off. The fight stays on the outside here - Nogueira looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Carryon explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Ricardo Nogueira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nogueira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
