The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tillet sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tillet tries to counter with a takedown but Drake is quick to defend against it.
Drake wants to clinch up but Tillet keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Richard Drake is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tillet is defended easily by Drake.
Drake is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Tillet with a body shot.
Drake works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Tillet seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Drake pulls Tillet in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Drake has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
