8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Suzuki Pv! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Virtua Bird! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pv connects with a crisp jab. Bird tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A combination from Pv does no damage. Pv pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Bird is looking to clinch. No joy there for Pv, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bird is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pv wants to land a leg kick but Bird is out of range. No joy there for Pv, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pv swinging wilding here.
Bird tries to close the distance and clinch but Pv swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pv jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Pv scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Pv wants to control but Bird is keeping him busy. Bird tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pv wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pv scores with punches from side control. Pv misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Bird is looking to regain half guard here but Pv keeps moving and retains side control. Pv staying calm. Bird tries to buck Pv off but Pv is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Pv misses with a few strikes there.
Pv throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pv misses with a wild body shot. Bird takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Bird tries to clinch up. Pv looks to land a right hand but Bird moved out of range. Pv misses with a hook. Bird ducked under it nicely. Pv looks to score with a jab to the body but Bird is just out of range. Pv cracks Bird with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bird moves in looking to clinch but Pv pushes him off. Pv closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pv works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Pv grinds an elbow into Bird's temple. Pv takes a little break here. Bird wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Pv lands some shots froms side control.
Bird is rocked! Pv in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Bird looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Pv turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Suzuki Pv! Suzuki Pv retains his middleweight title!
