Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Shieh (ranked 6753 p4p, 2582 weight class) and Aleksandr Djordjevic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Frankie Shieh has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frankie Shieh! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aleksandr Djordjevic! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Djordjevic keeps the fight on the outside. Djordjevic connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shieh. Shieh circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
It looks like Frankie Shieh has been cut. Djordjevic pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shieh plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Shieh looks to clinch and Djordjevic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Shieh tries to clinch up. Djordjevic changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Jab by Djordjevic.
Shieh is rocked! Shieh fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oh Shieh is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Djordjevic throws a body kick that misses. Shieh appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Shieh seems to have got his legs back now. Frankie Shieh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Djordjevic circles away from the clinch attempt.
Djordjevic works the jab nicely. An inside leg kick lands from Djordjevic. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Djordjevic looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Shieh throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Djordjevic's coach down at Cozad The Island was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Djordjevic's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Djordjevic feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Shiehs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Shieh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shieh tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Shieh gets caught napping as Djordjevic dives in and scores a takedown. Shieh manages to retain guard. Shieh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Djordjevic accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Djordjevic stays in close to Shieh's body and controls the position. Djordjevic throwing strikes but missing. Djordjevic landing with the ground and pound. Djordjevic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Djordjevic is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Djordjevic cracks Shieh with a solid left hand. Djordjevic is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Djordjevic's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Djordjevic throws a big right hand that misses. Shieh preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Djordjevic is stalling in the full guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. More stalling from Djordjevic.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Shieh tries to clinch but Djordjevic moves out of range. Shieh is looking to clinch. Shieh wants to clinch up but Djordjevic keeps it at a distance. Djordjevic throws a leg kick but Shieh checks it. Djordjevic connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Shieh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Djordjevic paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shieh wants to clinch. Djordjevic avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A jab-cross combination lands for Djordjevic and sends Shieh crashing to the mat! Djordjevic follows him down to the mat - Shieh regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet! Well, if Djordjevic is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Djordjevic has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Shieh defend it? Djordjevic steps over the head and cranks it - Shieh is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Djordjevic!
