Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Dungey (ranked 1977 p4p, 2683 weight class) and Tsuyoi Kakuto (ranked 0 p4p, 345 weight class). Kakuto has chosen Gorillaz-Dirty Harry as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Dungey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tsuyoi Kakuto! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kakuto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dungey! Dungey's coaches at whitey's gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Dungey wants to get back to his feet. Kakuto decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dungey to his feet. Kakuto drives through with a takedown into Dungey's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kakuto gets to his feet. Kakuto closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kakuto lands in his opponent's guard. Dungey has his feet on Kakuto's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Dungey displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kakuto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakuto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kakuto postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dungey to stand up. Kakuto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A momentary lapse in concentration from Dungey enables Kakuto to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dungey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dungey is working an open guard so Kakuto takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Kakuto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kakuto showed some decent athleticism there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kakuto postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dungey to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kakuto misses with a takedown attempt and Dungey counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Kakuto fails to land the takedown. Eric Dungey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tsuyoi Kakuto. Dungey gets caught flat footed, as Kakuto shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Dungey is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Kakuto pulls guard effortlessly. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Tsuyoi Kakuto will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Kakuto closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dungey quickly recovers to half guard. Kakuto escapes and gets back to his feet. Kakuto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dungey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dungey throws Kakuto to one side and escapes!

Kakuto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dungey sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kakuto somewhat. Kakuto shoots in from a long way out. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Kakuto shoots and misses and Dungey counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Kakuto drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dungey explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Kakuto misses with a takedown attempt and Dungey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kakuto dives in and scores a takedown into Dungey's guard. Dungey is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kakuto dives into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kakuto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Dungey counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Eric Dungey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tsuyoi Kakuto.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kakuto misses with a takedown attempt - Dungey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Dungey swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Kakuto uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dungey. Kakuto manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dungey on his heels. He'll look to pass Dungey's guard now, I'm sure. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kakuto gets to his feet - Dungey follows without any prompting. Kakuto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kakuto stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dungey to get to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kakuto gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kakuto takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kakuto fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dungey avoids it really well and circles away. Kakuto fails with the takedown. Kakuto scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eric Dungey. I think Dungey has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
