Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Hull (ranked 566 p4p, 928 weight class) and Kazuo Imanari (ranked 36 p4p, 55 weight class). Imanari has chosen 吉田兄弟 Rising as his entrance music. Kazuo Imanari is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamie Hull!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kazuo Imanari!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hull moves into the clinch.
Imanari slowing the pace effectively.
Hull tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Hull tries to pull guard but Imanari holds him up against the cage and eventually Hull drops back down to his feet.

Hull pulls guard successfully.
Imanari is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We've been hearing good reports from Hull's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hull throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Imanari escapes and throws Hull's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Hull is looking for a sweep.

Imanari is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hull will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
It looks like Imanari might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hull is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Imanari is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Hull is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hull wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Hull is really stuck here.
Hull is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Hull just trying to survive but Imanari is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Imanari keeps control of the position as Hull tries to break free.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Imanari not allowing Hull to control his hands.
Imanari slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Hull right now.
Hull is working hard here to advance position.
Imanari is not going to allow Hull to sit and survive in this position.

Hull tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Imanari has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Hull is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kazuo Imanari!

After the fight, Kazuo Imanari was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
