Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Blue Cup (ranked 922 p4p, 2063 weight class) and Jock Strap (ranked 144 p4p, 285 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Strap fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cup manages to avoid it.
Cup lands the left hand.
Cup fails with an attempt to clinch.
A jab from Strap misses.

And Strap tries to counter it with a takedown but Cup pushes his down on his head and steps out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Strap bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Cup paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Cup clobbers Strap with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Cup pivots, looking for a leg kick but Strap is out of range and Cup settles back down.
Strap throws a sloppy head kick and Cup moves out of range easily.
Cup is looking to clinch.

Cup misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Strap counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Strap lands a slapping body shot.

Cup gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Cup has Strap pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Strap manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Cup throws a punch but it's blocked by Strap.

Strap tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cup is trying to force a seperation but Strap has the dominant position.
Cup throws a head punch that misses.
Strap breaks from the clinch.
Jock Strap is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Strap takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Blue Cup seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cup throws a jab when Strap was well out of range.
Strap lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Cup throws a poor cross that misses
and Strap counters with a nice uppercut.
Cup is rocked!
The fight stays on the outside here - Cup looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cup gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Strap gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Cup is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Jock Strap was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
