And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Julian Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Damien Edna and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera darts in looking for a takedown but Cartwright gets double underhooks and turns Rivera into the cage.
Punchy Cartwright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cartwright fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Rivera on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Cartwright throws a combination that misses
and Rivera counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rivera.
Cartwright scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Rivera dodges the punch combination from Cartwright.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cartwright lands a really nice looking cross but Rivera seems unphased.
Rivera's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cartwright connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Rivera scrambles back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cartwright goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rivera walks into a straight right hand from Cartwright.
Cartwright scores with a hook to the body. Rivera takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Cartwright lands with a hook. Rivera tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Cartwright lands with a right that hurts Rivera. Rivera looks to clinch but Cartwright throws a short knee that drops Rivera. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Punchy Cartwright!
A very excited looking Punchy Cartwright rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
