PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aron Gray (ranked 3133 p4p, 3346 weight class) and Wiz Kraven (ranked 458 p4p, 482 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aron Gray !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Wiz Kraven!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gray ducks under a wild hook from Kraven.
Gray half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kraven darts in trying to clinch

and Gray counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kraven controlling the position for now.
Kraven has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at EFC Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gray in particular looking to stall.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

You can see the frustration on Gray 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kraven might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gray haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Kraven got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gray has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kraven has managed to get both his arms back between Gray 's legs - danger averted.

Kraven escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kraven throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Well, if Gray is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aron Gray will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kraven throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gray sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kraven or perhaps it was just good defense by Gray , which made it look bad.
Gray tries to counter with a takedown but Kraven is quick to defend against it.
Kraven shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kraven.
Gray wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Aron Gray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wiz Kraven.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kraven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gray but Gray pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Gray seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

and Gray moves into the clinch.

Gray decides to pull guard.
Kraven throws a big elbow that misses.
Kraven trying to control the position from guard on top but Gray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kraven content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gray has locked up a guillotine! Gray 's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Kraven is holding on here and Gray must be using up a lot of energy. Kraven has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gray gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Aron Gray !
Our winner, Aron Gray , made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
