Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Esposito Andres (ranked 4865 p4p, 5707 weight class) and Andrew Jones (ranked 568 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Juan Esposito Andres has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Juan Esposito Andres seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Esposito Andres! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Jones! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones has managed to clinch.
Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Andres wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Jones slows down the pace here.

The referee is keeping an eye on Jones - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jones receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Jones digs a right hand underneath Andres's ribcage. Andres let out a lung full of air as it connected. Jones prevents a takedown attempt there.

Andres tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the cage. Andres tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Andres drops back down to his feet.

Jones lands with a short head shot on the inside. Andres is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Andres has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Andres is breathing heavily. Andres jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Andres gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Andres. Andres gets slowly back to his feet. Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Andres. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Jones dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Andres tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jones wants to counter with a clinch but Andres pushes him away. Andres drives through and clinches with Jones against the cage.
Come on Jones - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Andres bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Andres has passed into half guard.
Andres content to control rather than advance. Andres seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jones is trying to control but can't.
Andres is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Andres is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Andres wants to stand up but Jones has a hold of him and won't allow it. Andres is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily. Jones wants to improve his position but Andres is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Andres is figuring out what he wants to do next. Andres seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Andres is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Andres thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jones won't allow Andres to pass to mount.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Andres closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away. Jones darts in and clinches Andres up against the cage. A short right from Jones on the inside. Andres gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Andres content to control rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Andres frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Andres looking to control and managing it successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth. Andres landing strikes, looking to finish!

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jones looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Andres! Submission of the night perhaps?
