Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Haywood Badger (ranked 9017 p4p, 21138 weight class) and Nick Holey (ranked 522 p4p, 568 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Haywood Badger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Holey!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Badger misses with an uppercut. Holey saw that one coming.

Holey moves into range and clinches up with Badger.

Holey wants the takedown. Badger is fighting it off but Holey persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Badger's guard against the cage.
Badger is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Badger is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holey is controlling him.
Holey content to stall in guard here.
Holey working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holey gets to his feet. Badger looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Badger tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Holey was well out of range. Poor timing from Badger.
Holey is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Holey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Badger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Badger will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Holey stays in close to Badger's body and controls the position.

Holey stands up from Badger's guard - Holey perhaps looking for a knockout.
Badger throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Badger jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Holey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Holey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Holey has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Badger defend it? Holey steps over the head and cranks it - Badger is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Holey!
