Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Christ Benoit (ranked 2004 p4p, 3488 weight class) and Aloysius Wiremu (ranked 300 p4p, 492 weight class). Benoit's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Amazing Grace. The crowd seem to be enjoying Wiremu's choice of entrance music: Billy Joel - The River of Dreams. Aloysius Wiremu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Benoit slips under a jab from Wiremu.
Benoit scores with a jab to the head.
Wiremu misses with an uppercut. Benoit saw that one coming.
Benoit scores with the left hand. Wiremu knows he should have avoided that one.
Benoit thuds his shin into the meat of Wiremu's side.
Benoit bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wiremu's head.
Benoit throws a wild body kick that Wiremu sees coming a mile off.

Benoit swats away the attempt to clinch by Wiremu.
Wiremu misses with an uppercut.
Benoit punishes Wiremu's body with a nice straight punch.
Benoit has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Marijuana Gardens in the buildup to the fight.
Wiremu moves out of range as Benoit throws a body kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wiremu takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wiremu tries to close the distance and clinch but Benoit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Benoit misses its target.

Benoit connects with a body shot that sends Wiremu's belly button to the back.
Benoit connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Benoit punishes Wiremu's body with a nice straight punch.
A head kick by Wiremu misses
and Benoit cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wiremu throws a body punch but Benoit moves out of range.
Benoit swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
A nice leg kick from Benoit, right into the meat of the thigh.
Benoit lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

It looks like Aloysius Wiremu has been cut.
Benoit uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wiremu.
Benoit connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wiremu. Wiremu circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Wiremu is rocked!
BAM! Benoit delivers a spinning backfist that drops Wiremu like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

A relieved looking Christ Benoit thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
