Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deacon Dilbrandt (ranked 2946 p4p, 2578 weight class) and Jack Stevens (ranked 369 p4p, 320 weight class). The key to victory for Deacon Dilbrandt has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Deacon Dilbrandt! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Stevens! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dilbrandt fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Stevens clinches up against the cage. Stevens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dilbrandt walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Stevens darts in looking for a takedown but Dilbrandt gets double underhooks and turns Stevens into the cage. Stevens shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dilbrandt defends it nicely. Deacon Dilbrandt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Stevens. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stevens is defended easily by Dilbrandt. Dilbrandt throws a low kick but Stevens moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevens misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dilbrandt attempts a counter takedown but Stevens avoids it well and moves away. Stevens fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Dilbrandt lands with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dilbrandt throws the left hand but Stevens avoids the punch easily. Stevens throws a series of punches but Dilbrandt moves out of range. Stevens tries to clinch up. Stevens shoots in but Dilbrandt avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dilbrandt tries to counter with a takedown but Stevens is quick to defend against it. Stevens has a takedown stuffed. Dilbrandt scores with a shot to the body.
Dilbrandt fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stevens on the side of the head. Stevens fails with a takedown attempt. Dilbrandt tries to counter with a takedown but Stevens is quick to defend against it. Stevens fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jab by Dilbrandt. Stevens takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Stevens tries a head kick but it misses.
Dilbrandt lands a nice leg kick that just misses Stevens's sensitive parts. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stevens shoots in for a takedown but Dilbrandt shows good takedown defense. Stevens takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Dilbrandt smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Stevens is rocked! A punch lands to the side of Stevens 's head but he takes it in his stride. Stevens is still on wobbly legs! Can Dilbrandt finish him? Stevens ducks into an uppercut from Dilbrandt and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Deacon Dilbrandt! Deacon Dilbrandt is the new lightweight champion! A relieved looking Deacon Dilbrandt thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
