Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Idrissa Dieng (ranked 4600 p4p, 25129 weight class) and Nate Crown (ranked 583 p4p, 777 weight class). Idrissa Dieng had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Idrissa Dieng! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nate Crown! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crown darts in looking for a takedown but Dieng gets double underhooks and turns Crown into the cage. As Crown tries to get set, Dieng tries to push him back and clinch up but Crown manages to avoid the attempt. Dieng misses with a series of wild punches.
Dieng throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Crown is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Dieng just misses with a punch to the body.
Good leg kick by Dieng. Crown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dieng as he avoids it easily. Dieng doesn't manage to clinch there - Crown circles away.
Dieng lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Crown at a distance.
Dieng throws a right hand that Crown ducks under and follows up with a left that Crown also avoids with ease. Crown shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dieng as he avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dieng tries to clinch but Crown is having none of it. We've been told by Dieng's head coaches at Canucks Combat Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Crown has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Dieng fails to land the takedown. Crown is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Dieng with a body shot. Nice sprawl there from Crown as Dieng shoots in. Dieng moves into the clinch. Crown blocks an elbow strike. Dieng blocks the elbow strike.

Crown is controlling Dieng's position as best he can from this difficult position. It looks like Dieng is going to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Crown is looking to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Crown stuffs the takedown attempt from Dieng. Dieng gets slowly back to his feet. Crown tries to counter with a clinch but Dieng shakes him off and moves away. Dieng instigates a clinch. Crown is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dieng pulls him back up using the underhooks. Crown displaying some good clinch control by pressing Dieng up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Dieng looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Dieng misses with a punch to the body.
Dieng has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Crown goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dieng prevents it.
Crown looking for a takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Crown. Crown's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dieng gets slowly back to his feet. Dieng jabs at Crown's body. Crown looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dieng is fending him off so far but Crown persists. Nope, Dieng circles away and we're back to standing. Dieng throws a head kick but Crown moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dieng lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. A right-left combo lands from Dieng. The fight stays on the outside here - Dieng looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Crown dives in and grabs Dieng's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dieng pushes down on Crown's head and hops out. Dieng attempts a counter takedown but Crown avoids it well and moves away. Dieng stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Dieng tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Crown manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dieng tries a head kick but it misses.
Dieng is looking to clinch. Crown swats away the attempt to clinch by Dieng. Crown fails with the takedown. A head kick by Dieng misses and Crown counters by clinching up. Crown escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dieng is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Crown is keeping busy. Crown pulls guard effortlessly. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Crown keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dieng's efforts to push away. Crown breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nate Crown seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Dieng blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Dieng stops a takedown attempt from Crown.
Idrissa Dieng is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Crown breaks from the clinch.
A lazy body kick from Dieng and Crown counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Crown. Crown breaks the clinch.
Crown fails with the takedown. Crown takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dieng keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Dieng throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Crown's waist but Crown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dieng off to one side. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crown takes a body punch but keeps moving. Nate Crown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dieng doesn't manage to clinch there - Crown circles away.

And that's the end of the fight! Idrissa Dieng showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dieng, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
