PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Bento Barboza (ranked 24264 p4p, 2520 weight class) and Francis The Predator (ranked 705 p4p, 300 weight class). Barboza comes to the ring accompanied by Angel Of Death. The Predator has chosen The predator tribute as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Predator throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Barboza closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends The Predator crashing to the mat! The Predator uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!

It looks like Francis The Predator has been cut.
The Predator gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Barboza.
The Predator swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The Predator on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barboza throws a low kick but The Predator avoids it.
A nice leg kick lands there from Barboza.
Barboza throws an ugly left hook that misses
and The Predator counters with a straight right hand.
Barboza looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The Predator misses with an uppercut. Barboza saw that one coming.

The Predator keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Barboza looks to land a left hand but The Predator moved out of range nicely.
Barboza throws a series of punches but The Predator moves out of range.
Barboza connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That has opened up Francis The Predator's cut even more.

Barboza tries to move into range but The Predator moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Bento Barboza has been cut.
Barboza throws a jab when The Predator was well out of range.
The Predator displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barboza throws out the jab.

The Predator misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Barboza makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The Predator misses the jab.
The Predator misses with a body punch
and The Predator takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Barboza throws a jab but it's blocked by The Predator.
The Predator doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
The Predator moves out of range of the leg kick from Barboza.
Barboza misses with a looping right.
Barboza lands a jab to The Predator's midsection.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bento Barboza dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The Predator looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Barboza counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and The Predator counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The Predator takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

and Barboza counters with a nice uppercut.
Bento Barboza is winning the standup battle so far.
Barboza swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by The Predator.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barboza throws a looping overhand right but The Predator ducks down to avoid it.
Barboza scores with a body shot.

The Predator on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Barboza is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that The Predator can do to turn this around?
A shot to the liver by Barboza. Beautiful body shot.
The Predator is breathing heavily.

Barboza catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! The Predator stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? The Predator walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!

The cut above Francis The Predator's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Bento Barboza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barboza thumps The Predator with a low kick.
Barboza connects with a leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A nice inside leg kick there by Barboza. That's going to slow The Predator down.
Barboza scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

A nice side step and The Predator releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Barboza looks to land a right hand but The Predator moved out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from The Predator! But no joy.
Barboza throws a leg kick but The Predator checks it.
The Predator throws a right hand that misses

and Barboza counters with a straight right that drops The Predator on his ass! The Predator jumps back to his feet. He seems OK to continue so we'll get back to the action.

Francis The Predator's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Francis The Predator's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bento Barboza!
