The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurstr�m and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avg rushes Carey and presses him up against the cage.
Avg prevents Carey from breaking the clinch.
Carey tries to break free but Avg pushes him back against the cage.
Carey wants to get back to striking at distance but Avg won't allow it.
Avg successfully pulls guard.
Avg is pulling down on Carey's head. It's preventing any offense from Carey, at least for the moment.
Avg looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Avg trying to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Avg is on top in guard.

Avg stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Carey sizes up Avg with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Avg shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Avg was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Let's hope that Avg has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Avg content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Avg is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Carey is trying to escape and Avg transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Carey is forced to tap! Nice work there by Avg! Very nice indeed!
