Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Artur Omelchenko (ranked 4718 p4p, 6541 weight class) and Person Killer (ranked 526 p4p, 619 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Artur Omelchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Person Killer!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Killer has closed the distance and engaged Omelchenko in a clinch.
Omelchenko stalls.

Killer jumps guard and drags Omelchenko to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Killer looking for a guillotine here but Omelchenko defends easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Killer has his foot on Omelchenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Omelchenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Killer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Omelchenko gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Killer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Omelchenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Killer on the ground.

Omelchenko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Omelchenko tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Killer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Killer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Killer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Omelchenko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Killer somewhat.
Omelchenko swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Killer tries to pull guard but Omelchenko forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Killer has Omelchenko pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Omelchenko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Omelchenko is looking to control Killer's arms but Killer gets an underhook and turns him. Now Omelchenko has his back to the cage.

Person Killer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Omelchenko throws a hook to the side of Killer's head but Killer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Omelchenko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Omelchenko wants it to stay on the feet.
Omelchenko looks to land a left hand but Killer moved out of range nicely.
Killer lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Killer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Omelchenko.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Killer gets control of Omelchenko's arms and successfully pulls guard. Killer will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Killer pulls Omelchenko in close to his closed guard and prevents Omelchenko from doing any damage or advancing position.
Killer is trying to control the position but Omelchenko postures up.

Killer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Killer manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Omelchenko tries to stall but Killer uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Killer tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Omelchenko on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Killer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A jab from Omelchenko misses.
Killer takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Killer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Killer showed some decent athleticism there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Killer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Omelchenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Omelchenko wants to get back to full guard but Killer has passed into side control.
Omelchenko parries the strikes from Killer easily there. Killer is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Omelchenko to escape.
Omelchenko tries to buck Killer off but Killer is having none of it.
Killer happy to just control the position for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Killer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Omelchenko to his feet.
Omelchenko is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Killer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Omelchenko's waist but Omelchenko gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Killer off to one side.
