Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Klaas Du Toit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bobo Nelson !
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson tries to sprawl but Du Toit drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Nelson manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Du Toit gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nelson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Nelson content to stall in guard here.
Du Toit looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Du Toit wants to stand and escape but Nelson is having none of it.

Nelson goes for a double leg but Du Toit avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Du Toit continues to drive forward.

and Nelson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Du Toit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nelson is fending him off so far but Du Toit persists. Nope, Nelson circles away and we're back to standing.

Du Toit swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Du Toit tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Du Toit shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nelson sprawls well. Nelson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Du Toit gets slowly back to his feet.

Du Toit shoots in for a double leg but Nelson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nelson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Du Toit defends it nicely.
Du Toit fires out a quick counter leg kick but Nelson just manages to avoid it.

Nelson drops back looking for a leg! Du Toit is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Du Toit manages to kick Nelson off! Nelson jumps back into Du Toit's guard.
Nelson stands up and waves to Du Toit to follow him.
Du Toit shoots in for a takedown but Nelson shows good takedown defense.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Du Toit tries to roll over but Nelson keeps him under control.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Bobo Nelson dominated that round.
That's time! Du Toit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nelson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Du Toit quickly recovers to half guard.
Du Toit has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nelson is working away from the top position though.

Nelson is taking a breather. Du Toit says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Nelson is taking a breather. Du Toit says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Du Toit shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Du Toit keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nelson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nelson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Du Toit.
Du Toit changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nelson tries to avoid it but Du Toit manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nelson to the ground. Nelson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Du Toit slaps away a takedown attempt from Nelson , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Du Toit shoots in and drives through. Nelson sprawls well.
