Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Smashy Cartwright (ranked 2854 p4p, 3551 weight class) and Mr Glass (ranked 356 p4p, 437 weight class). Cartwright kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Hammer. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Smashy Cartwright! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mr Glass! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glass darts in and clinches Cartwright up against the cage. Glass is trying to break free. Cartwright pulls Glass into guard.
Glass stops Cartwright from standing up. Glass trying to control but Cartwright is working from the bottom. Cartwright wants to get back to his feet but Glass is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cartwright tries to get out of the position. Glass slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cartwright is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Glass tries for a kimura but Cartwright is defending well. Cartwright is not content to let Glass control the position. Cartwright is looking for a sweep. Glass thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Glass looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Cartwright holds on to Glass's head and controls the position momentarily. Glass is looking to take a break and control but Cartwright is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cartwright gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cartwright tries to get back to half guard but can't. Glass trying to control but he's not successful this time. Glass might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cartwright haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cartwright is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Cartwright stops Glass from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Glass can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cartwright is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cartwright wants to control but Glass is having none of it. Glass goes for an armbar but Cartwright turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Cartwright. Cartwright trying to control the position from guard on top but Glass is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cartwright content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Glass looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Mr Glass dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Cartwright ducks under a wild hook from Glass. Glass throws a sloppy head kick so Cartwright counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Glass keeping moving, preventing Cartwright from controlling successfully. Cartwright pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Glass is keeping the position for now. Cartwright working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Glass's head. Glass has momentary wrist control but Cartwright slips an elbow through the middle. Glass wants to sweep here but Cartwright controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cartwright is in close to Glass's body, working some short punches and elbows. Glass not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Smashy Cartwright overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Glass trying to keep a closed guard but Cartwright is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Glass is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cartwright is aware though and is defending well. Glass is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cartwright is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cartwright postures up and lands a big shot to Glass's brow. Glass utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Cartwright is working Glass over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Glass is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cartwright wants to control from the top but Glass keeps moving. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cartwright's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Cartwright controls from within his opponent's guard. Glass is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cartwright rolls with it to try and escape but Glass cranks on the arm and Cartwright is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
