Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Zimmer (ranked 4820 p4p, 4804 weight class) and Taki Sakimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Zimmer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taki Sakimoto! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sakimoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zimmer tries to avoid it but Sakimoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zimmer to the ground. Zimmer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sakimoto has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sakimoto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sakimoto dives in for a single leg takedown but Zimmer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Zimmer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Zimmer misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sakimoto wants to counter with a clinch but Zimmer pushes him away. Sakimoto forces Zimmer back against the cage and clinches. Zimmer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sakimoto is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Zimmer to the mat. Zimmer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sakimoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Zimmer is retaining full guard. Zimmer wants to sweep here but Sakimoto controlling him for the moment. Zimmer has an active guard here but Sakimoto has managed to pass into half guard.
Sakimoto lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sakimoto stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Zimmer to get to his feet. Sakimoto has closed the distance and engaged Zimmer in a clinch.

It looks like Jim Zimmer has been cut. Sakimoto goes for a takedown attempt but Zimmer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Jim Zimmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taki Sakimoto. Zimmer throws a body punch but Sakimoto moves out of range. Zimmer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Zimmer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sakimoto. Sakimoto displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zimmer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sakimoto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sakimoto looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sakimoto chips away with some ground and pound. Sakimoto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sakimoto lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Sakimoto controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zimmer looking for a guillotine here but Sakimoto defends easily.
Zimmer is trying to control the position but Sakimoto postures up. Sakimoto looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sakimoto stands and throws Zimmer's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Zimmer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Sakimoto takes a little break here. Zimmer wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Sakimoto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sakimoto scoring with punches from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Zimmer seems a little lost for a moment, as Sakimoto dominates the positioning. Sakimoto tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Sakimoto lands an elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Taki Sakimoto dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jim Zimmer's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Sakimoto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sakimoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Zimmer trying to keep a closed guard but Sakimoto is proving a slippery customer.
Sakimoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Zimmer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sakimoto pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zimmer is keeping the position for now. Sakimoto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Zimmer, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Zimmer tries to keep at a distance but Sakimoto has taken the fight into the clinch. Zimmer is trying to push Sakimoto away but Sakimoto has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Sakimoto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice takedown defense from Sakimoto. No joy for Zimmer on that attempt. Zimmer shoots and misses and Sakimoto counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Sakimoto just leaning against Zimmer, taking a breather. Zimmer tries to pull guard but Sakimoto forces him back to his feet, against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Zimmer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sakimoto drags the fight down to the ground.
Sakimoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Zimmer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sakimoto is controlling Zimmer's posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zimmer tries to free his leg and advance position but Sakimoto is retaining full guard. Sakimoto tries to strike from the bottom.
Sakimoto keeping moving, preventing Zimmer from controlling successfully. Zimmer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sakimoto is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sakimoto has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Zimmer should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Sakimoto has tightened it up now! Zimmer should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
