Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kang Aroo (ranked 3701 p4p, 2596 weight class) and James Rocksteady (ranked 497 p4p, 365 weight class). Rocksteady has chosen Red Right Hand as his entrance music. James Rocksteady has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kang Aroo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Rocksteady! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rocksteady fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Aroo to the ground. Rocksteady is now in Aroo's guard. Rocksteady postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rocksteady trying to control the position from guard on top but Aroo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aroo is looking to stand up but Rocksteady isn't so interested in that idea. Aroo keeping full guard, as Rocksteady tries to pass. Rocksteady has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at CT. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Rocksteady controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aroo wants to control the position but Rocksteady says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Rocksteady controlling the action here. Aroo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rocksteady on the ground. Aroo looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rocksteady throwing shots but Aroo is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rocksteady seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Rocksteady working over Aroo with some ground and pound. Aroo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rocksteady thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aroo's head. Rocksteady missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Rocksteady not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rocksteady is figuring out what he wants to do next. Aroo regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rocksteady.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rocksteady is stalling in the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Aroo scores with a hook. Rocksteady shoots in and gets a takedown into Aroo's guard. Rocksteady lands a couple of digs. Rocksteady with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Aroo wants to get back to his feet but Rocksteady is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rocksteady has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rocksteady missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Aroo wants to stand up but Rocksteady is controlling him. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Rocksteady passes Aroo's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Rocksteady working the head and body with strikes. Rocksteady thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rocksteady seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Rocksteady not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
James Rocksteady dominated that round. That's time! Aroo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rocksteady clinches. Rocksteady on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rocksteady turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Rocksteady moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Rocksteady thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rocksteady working the head and body with strikes.
It looks like Kang Aroo has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rocksteady has an Americana. Aroo didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Rocksteady is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Rocksteady hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). James Rocksteady! A relieved looking James Rocksteady thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
