The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Minasian.
Savkov wants to counter the offense by Minasian and move into the clinch position.
Tigran Minasian seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Minasian doesn't manage to clinch there - Savkov circles away.

Minasian forces Savkov back against the ropes and clinches.

Savkov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Minasian can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Minasian tries to free his leg and advance position but Savkov is retaining full guard.

Minasian has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

You can see the frustration on Minasian's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Savkov is cranking Minasian's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Minasian! He's tightened the choke and Minasian is tapping out!
