Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 39 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hank Holmes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kane Gold!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold scores with a body shot.
Holmes misses with a double jab
and Gold counters with a nice uppercut.
Gold displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Gold moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Holmes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gold.
A telegraphed right hand from Holmes misses the target.
Gold fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Holmes has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gold lands a nice leg kick that just misses Holmes's sensitive parts.
Holmes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gold as he jumps to the side.
A jab-cross combination lands for Gold and sends Holmes crashing to the mat! Gold follows him down to the mat - Holmes regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Holmes is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gold is thwarting Holmes's attempts to control the position.
Holmes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gold is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Gold looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gold connects with a nice short shot to Holmes's temple.
Holmes is breathing heavily.
Gold working Holmes over with strikes.

Gold with the ground and pound but Holmes uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Gold postures up and lands a big shot to Holmes's brow.
Holmes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Oh Holmes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gold throwing strikes from guard but Holmes blocks nicely.
Holmes seems to have got his legs back now.
Holmes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Gold throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gold accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Holmes is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gold defends well.
Holmes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Gold working his ground and pound in the gym.

Gold is working Holmes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Gold postures up in Holmes's guard and throws a big left but Holmes blocks it.

Gold keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Holmes's head.
Holmes working for submissions but it's allowed Gold to get to half guard.

Gold scores with a big shot! Holmes's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Holmes! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
