And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Ellis!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romero darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Romero scores with a hook.
Ellis throws a series of punches but Romero moves out of range.
No joy there for Ellis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Romero scores with a jab. Ellis acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Romero throws a hook but Ellis avoids it easily.
Ellis throws out a loose jab but Romero uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ellis throws a jab when Romero was well out of range.
Ellis swats away the attempt to clinch by Romero.
Ellis dodges the punch combination from Romero.
Ellis waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Romero.
The crowd cheers as Romero lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ellis doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Donk. Romero catches Ellis right on the button with a cross.

Romero is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Romero sends Ellis crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Romero is motioning to the referee to let Ellis up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Ellis is rocked!

Ellis tries to keep at a distance but Romero has taken the fight into the clinch.
Ellis is still on wobbly legs! Can Romero finish him?

Romero pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Romero throws a big counter combination but Ellis scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Ellis seems to have recovered his senses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A jab from Romero finds it's way through Ellis's defenses.
Ellis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Romero misses with a body shot
and Ellis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Romero dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ellis. That did some damage!
Ellis just misses with a punch to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Romero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ellis throws a counter combo.
Romero swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ellis counters with a nice uppercut.
Crunch! Romero slams his shin into Ellis's torso.

A thudding body kick lands there by Romero!
A jab lands there for Romero.
Romero misses with an attempted mid kick.

and Ellis counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Marco Romero has been cut.

Ellis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Romero is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Romero scores with a nice strike.
Romero looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
A bone on bone clash there as Ellis blocks the leg kick.
Romero slips a straight right by Ellis.
Ellis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Romero to score with a decent uppercut.

Romero tries to clinch but Ellis moves out of range.
Ellis lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Romero lands a left and a right that send Ellis crashing to the mat, dazed. Romero thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Ellis on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Romero drops Ellis with a naaaaasty hook - Ellis is in real trouble here! Romero dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marco Romero!
