Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Ortega (ranked 2954 p4p, 24328 weight class) and Raval Bard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raval Bard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Ortega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raval Bard! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bard gets off balance looking for a body kick and Bard takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. A lazy left from Ortega finds it's target. Ortega looks to land a combination. Bard sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Bard takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ortega lands with a cross. Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bard won't allow Ortega to pass to mount. Bard is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ortega seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bard does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Ortega is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bard is just riding it out for now. Ortega eventually gives up the hold. Ortega is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortega prevents Bard from improving his position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bard can do anything to dispel that myth. Bard tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Ortega has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Bard is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Bard really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ortega unloading with bombs! Ortega looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Ortega is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bard has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ortega throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bard because Ortega loaded up on that one. Ortega controlling his opponent. Bard tries to lock up and control but Ortega gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bard is trying to escape the mount.
Ortega pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Ortega looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Bard taking shots to the head. Ortega cracks Bard with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ortega throws some wild stikes that Bard manages to avoid easily.
Ortega has hold of Bard's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bard manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ortega cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Ortega thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ortega is working for a guillotine from mount but Bard frees his head quite easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bard keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bard has given up his back.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Ortega dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ortega buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bard will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Raval Bard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A looping hook to the body misses from Bard. Ortega does a little dance to reset his feet. Ortega connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bard's hands. Bard needs to keep his hands up - Ortega had a free shot at his head there. Ortega goes for a double leg but Bard avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bard continues to drive forward. Bard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bard listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Raval Bard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ortega swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bard. Ortega lands a two punch combo.
Ortega scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ortega thuds a left hand into Bard's body. Bard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ortega fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Bard has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Bard scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Ortega has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Bard. Oh but Ortega has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Bard goes limp - he's gone! Ortega jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Brian Ortega! After winning the bout, Brian Ortega thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
