The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joly takes a swing at Acemoglu's ribcage but misses.

Acemoglu sets himself, and Joly steps forward looking for the clinch! Acemoglu avoids it this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Acemoglu fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Joly to the ground. Acemoglu is now in Joly's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Acemoglu lands a nice short elbow.
Joly has hold of Acemoglu's hands but Acemoglu slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Acemoglu seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Joly is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Acemoglu scores with a couple of nice shots.
Joly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Acemoglu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Well, if Acemoglu is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Joly is trying to control but can't.

Acemoglu postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Joly looks a forlorn figure.
Joly is still in real trouble! Can Acemoglu finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A big strike lands for Acemoglu! That's really hurt Joly and he's turned his back - Acemoglu keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Acemoglu jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
