Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jill is looking to clinch.

Hixon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hixon is trying to break the clinch but Jill has him pressed against the cage.
Jill gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hixon.

Hixon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jill clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Jill is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hixon gets his way!
Hixon has Jill flattened out and is raining down punches.

Jill drops back looking for a leg! Hixon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hixon manages to kick Jill off! Jill jumps back into Hixon's guard.

Jill throws a big right hand that misses.
Hixon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jill stays in close to Hixon's body and controls the position.
Jill sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hixon's guard.
Hixon tries to kick Jill off but Jill keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hixon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hixon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hixon is refusing to be controlled, as Jill sits in half guard.
Hixon is trying to get back to full guard.
Jill is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hixon wants to control but Jill is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hixon is looking to get back to is feet but Jill passes into side control.

Jill is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Hixon has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Jill looking to break Hixon's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Hixon remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jill will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Hixon manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jill's guard. Nice work there by Hixon.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hixon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hixon is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hixon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jill tries for a takedown but Hixon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jacob Jill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roy Hixon.

Jill has Hixon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jill pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hixon tumbling to the mat - Jill dives into Hixon's guard.

Jill gets to his feet. Hixon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Hixon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hixon.

Jill has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hixon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jill unloads with some shots from mount but Hixon bucks and avoids them well.
