Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payne tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hammington swivels and escapes. Payne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hammington has Payne up against the cage in a clinch.
Payne jumps guard and drags Hammington to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Hammington trying to control but Payne is working from the bottom. Payne can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hammington controls the pace. Hammington tries to free his leg and advance position but Payne is retaining full guard. Payne being controlled here, momentarily. Hammington gets to his feet - Payne follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payne wants to clinch so Hammington counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Payne pushes Hammington off and gets back to his feet.
Payne stuffs the takedown. Payne looks to clinch and Hammington counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Payne! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hammington takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Payne is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammington lands a big elbow. Hammington tries to control but Payne wriggling away. Hammington avoids the attempt from Payne to control. Payne is trying to stand up. Payne looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payne tries to hold on but Hammington postures up. Hammington looking to control and managing it successfully. You get the feeling that Payne really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hammington controlling his opponent. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hammington trying to control but Payne is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hammington lands a nice shot to the head. Hammington lands a big shot there that rocks Payne but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Payne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hammington. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Payne is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Payne is bucking up trying to escape but Hammington cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Hammington working Payne over with strikes here. Hammington tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hammington throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Payne. Payne misses with a takedown and Hammington counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Hammington wants to work for an arm triangle but Payne is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hammington sitting and controlling from the half guard. Payne is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hammington scores with a couple of nice shots. Payne is breathing heavily. Hammington is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammington uses his free foot to push down on Payne's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Payne. Payne is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hammington jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Payne manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hammington looks up at the clock and then as Payne takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hammington smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hammington stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammington pushes Payne up against the cage in a clinch. Hammington wants a takedown.
Hammington lands a damaging elbow. Payne using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hammington has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Payne lands a knee to the body.
Hammington lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Payne backwards. Hammington's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Josh Payne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hammington forces Payne back against the cage and clinches. Hammington has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Payne regains guard immediately. Hammington advances to half guard. Hammington has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hammington fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hammington looking to control but Payne is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hammington controlling from mount. Hammington connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hammington controlling from mount. Wade Hammington overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Payne is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Hammington lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Hammington lands a big shot there that rocks Payne but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Payne. Hammington working away from the top, dropping strikes. Hammington is in the full mount, landing strikes. Hammington lands with some strikes. Payne bucks Hammington off and manages to get back to his feet! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Danga de danga de dang - Hammington scores with a four punch combination!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammington looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Payne is fending him off so far but Hammington persists. Nope, Payne circles away and we're back to standing. Payne gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Hammington trying to control the position from guard on top but Payne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammington showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Hammington pushing down on Payne's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Payne is trying to maintain the position but Hammington is very close to passing his half guard. Payne scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hammington manages to mount him!
