Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Banana Republic (ranked 3240 p4p, 4236 weight class) and Thor Nordquist (ranked 381 p4p, 487 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Banana Republic! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thor Nordquist! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Damien Edna and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nordquist misses with a hook to the body
and Republic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Republic keeps the fight on the outside. Republic scores with a hook. Nordquist tries for a takedown but Republic circles away easily and Republic cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Nordquist tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Republic defends well and Nordquist ends up having to push Republic into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Republic seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Nordquist with a poor takedown and Republic counters with a lovely straight right hand! Banana Republic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thor Nordquist. Jab from Republic. Nordquist misses with an uppercut
and Republic counters with a lovely straight right hand! Nordquist throws a lazy uppercut
and Republic counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Republic dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nordquist scores with a jab to the body. Nordquist with a poor takedown and Republic counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Republic missing with a left hand there. Nordquist was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Nordquist. Nordquist fails with the takedown and Republic connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nordquist is rocked! Republic has closed the distance and engaged Nordquist in a clinch.
Republic breaks from the clinch.
Nordquist doesn't succeed with the takedown and Republic counters with a huge left! Nordquist is in big trouble! He's backing up but Republic isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Nordquist from any more damage. A dominating finish by Republic!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Banana Republic! A less than humble Banana Republic misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
