Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Petrov (ranked 3482 p4p, 2935 weight class) and Dave Ashbourne Jr (ranked 203 p4p, 171 weight class). Ashbourne Jr is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Vertical Horizon - You're A God. Dave Ashbourne Jr will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Ashbourne Jr misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ashbourne Jr lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Petrov at a distance.
A jab lands there for Ashbourne Jr.
Ashbourne Jr stuffs the takedown attempt from Petrov. Petrov gets slowly back to his feet.
Petrov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It looked like Petrov was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ashbourne Jr fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ashbourne Jr cracks Petrov with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ashbourne Jr lands a nice hook to Petrov's body. Petrov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Petrov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Petrov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Petrov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Ashbourne Jr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Petrov thinking.
Petrov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Ashbourne Jr to score with a decent uppercut.

Petrov is rocked!
Ashbourne Jr connects with a single shot there.
Oh Petrov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ashbourne Jr lands a really nice looking cross but Petrov seems unphased.
Ashbourne Jr connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ashbourne Jr circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Petrov to the canvas! Petrov doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Ashbourne Jr keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

After the fight, Dave Ashbourne Jr was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
