Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Geoff Jeffries (ranked 3431 p4p, 4476 weight class) and Juares Dea (ranked 448 p4p, 576 weight class). Juares Dea is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geoff Jeffries! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juares Dea! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jeffries takes a swing at Dea's ribcage but misses. Jeffries lands with a nice combination. Dea backs away looking to recover. Jeffries ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dea moves away. Jeffries displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dea. Dea throws a low kick, looking for Jeffries's leg but Jeffries calmly moves out of range. Jeffries misses with a shot to the body enabling Dea to counter with a crisp jab. Dea tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jeffries swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jeffries changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Dea shoots in but no luck this time. Dea fails in his attempt to clinch. Jeffries appears to be looking for a big counter. Dea needs to keep his hands up - Jeffries had a free shot at his head there. Jeffries throws a body shot but no joy. Dea shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jeffries pinned against the cage. Jeffries gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. It looked like Jeffries was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dea. Geoff Jeffries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juares Dea. Dea fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jeffries lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dea circles away quickly and effectively.

Dea closes the distance and pushes Jeffries back into the cage. Dea is trying to pull guard but Jeffries turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jeffries breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jeffries swats away the attempt to clinch by Dea. Dea moves out of range of the strikes. Dea slips under a jab from Jeffries. A looping hook to the body misses from Jeffries. Dea does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been told by Jeffries's head coaches at Shadow Warriors that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Jeffries misses with a body shot.

Jeffries breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dea uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jeffries.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jeffries wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jeffries swings for the body but Dea moves out of range.
Dea shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jeffries but Jeffries pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dea tries to clinch up. Jeffries fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dea avoids a punch combination nicely.

Dea looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Dea moves out of range of the strikes. Jeffries misses with a hook. Jeffries throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dea counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jeffries won't be happy with that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dea decides to stand back up. Dea steps back and let's Jeffries get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jeffries uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dea has time to react. Dea scores with a nice strike. Jeffries throws a hook but Dea blocks it. The fight moves into the clinch position. Dea's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Jeffries misses with a short punch on the inside. Jeffries fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Jeffries lunges at Dea with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dea's hand. Dea closes the distance and clinches. Jeffries doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Dea tries a knee to the head but Jeffries blocks it.

Geoff Jeffries dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Dea shoots in but no luck this time. Dea tries to clinch up. Jeffries misses with a looping right. Jeffries connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jeffries tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dea was well out of range. Poor timing from Jeffries. Jeffries stuffs the takedown. Dea fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Geoff Jeffries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juares Dea. Dea changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jeffries tries to avoid it but Dea manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jeffries to the ground. Jeffries escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A little feinted left hand from Jeffries on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Dea gets a clinch. A short right from Jeffries on the inside. Dea is trying to pull guard but Jeffries turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dea tries to pull guard but Jeffries holds him up against the cage and eventually Dea drops back down to his feet.
Dea jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jeffries walks away with a smile on his face. Dea gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jeffries fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

As Jeffries backs off Dea throws a huge counter combo but Jeffries manages to avoid it all. Geoff Jeffries is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jeffries throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Dea tries to counter with a clinch but Jeffries shakes him off and moves away. A big right from Jeffries misses. Dea throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jeffries tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dea is in Jeffries's guard. Jeffries is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dea can do to turn this around? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dea wants to pass the guard but Jeffries is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jeffries scores with a hook to the body. Dea takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Dea dives in for a single leg takedown but Jeffries sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Dea takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dea wants to clinch. Jeffries displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Dea is still on wobbly legs! Can Jeffries finish him? Jeffries lands a lovely overhand right. Dea doesn't manage to clinch there - Jeffries circles away.

Dea looks for a takedown but Jeffries sprawls well. Dea seems to have recovered his senses. Dea tries to close the distance and clinch but Jeffries swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jeffries just misses with a punch to the body.
Jeffries gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dea to score an easy takedown into full guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Jeffries manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Dea has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jeffries is trying to keep an underhook but Dea manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dea is looking to advance position but Jeffries won't allow it. Jeffries keeps control of the position for the meantime. Jeffries has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dea is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jeffries controlling Dea's posture. Jeffries looking for a sweep. Not yet Jeffries, not yet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dea forces his way into half guard. Jeffries keeping hold of Dea's head, controlling as best he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Geoff Jeffries showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jeffries, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
