Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Escalante (ranked 194 p4p, 600 weight class) and Konstantin Sogrin (ranked 25 p4p, 91 weight class). Sogrin has chosen Rammstein - Sonne as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Escalante throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Sogrin's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Escalante dives in looking to finish as Sogrin flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Escalante's strikes! Escalante is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Sogrin's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Sogrin was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
