Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bernie Sanders (ranked 1041 p4p, 1945 weight class) and Dragon Li Chai (ranked 65 p4p, 117 weight class). Sanders comes to the cage accompanied by Shooter Gang. Dragon Li Chai will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bernie Sanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dragon Li Chai! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanders looks for a takedown but Chai sprawls well. Chai tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Chai closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sanders did well to prevent Chai getting side control. Chai sitting and controlling from the half guard. Chai trying to control the action but Sanders is working from the bottom. Sanders looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanders looking for submissions from an awkward position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanders looking for submissions off his back. Chai tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sanders has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Still in half guard, Chai seems content to control. Chai looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
